BLM is a member of the Eco Bat Technologies group, the world’s largest recyclers of Lead. The group has locations throughout Europe, Southern Africa and the USA handling approximately 1.2 million tonnes of material. The core group activity is recycling Lead acid batteries, primarily from the automotive industry. Whilst the main aim is to reclaim the Lead, a host of other materials are also recovered and recycled including polypropylene and acid. In addition, gypsum is also produced as a by-product of the recovery process.
Scrap Lead is sourced from reputable scrap merchants by BLM, where it is recycled using a refining process, this ensures 100% recycled material is available 100% of the time.
BLM’s sister company HJ Enthoven, based in Darley Dale on the edge of the Peak District National Park, is involved with the recycling of vehicle batteries and is the key to BLM’s strategy of producing a fully recycled range of Lead products.
